Congregational Care Team

We are a group of church members whose main goal is to show love and support to our church family. Our church bulletins are mailed weekly to the sick, shut-ins and those on the cheer list who were not at church. Visits and phone calls are made to those in the hospital, those recuperating at home and the shut-ins.

We have a great card ministry. Get well, thinking of you, cheer, sympathy and birthday cards are sent.

When there is an illness or death in your family, please let us know. We want to be here for “For Our Church Family”. We love and care for each one of you!

Mildred Turner Community Action Group

Mildred Turner Community Action Group, named after and in honor of Mildred Martha Turner who was a recipient of the UMW Lifetime Membership Award.

This group has fund raisers to help contribute to the local charities. They also plan and coordinate the meals for families during funerals, holidays, fundraiser events, etc.

The members meet monthly.

Hands of Hope Prayer Shawl Ministry

As Christ prays for us, so too, we pray for one another.

Care and the love of knitting (and crochet) have been combined into prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace. Many blessings are knitted into every shawl. The knitter begins each shawl with prayers for the recipient. Intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. When the shawl is completed, it is offered a final ritual before being sent along its way.

This group meets each Thursday at 6:30 PM in the church library, January through Mid November. Adults interested in participating in this ministry are encouraged to attend. Knowing how to knit or crochet is helpful, but not required. If you have questions about the ministry, feel free to contact the church office and you will be contacted by the members of the group.

Pearl Webb Fellowship Group

Chair: Loyce Campbell

This group offers spiritual support and friendship to one another through the sharing of Christian experiences and Bible Study. Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month. Hostess is responsible for the place of the meeting and the program.
